Discover a fresh approach to painting in Deconstructed Realism, a workshop that breaks artwork down into its core elements—line, color, shape, and form—and invites you to explore each one independently. Using a recognizable subject as your starting point, you’ll learn how to push and rearrange these elements to create artwork that feels both abstracted and grounded in realism.
Through guided exercises and demonstrations, you’ll experiment with simplifying forms, exaggerating color relationships, shifting edges, and rethinking composition. The goal is to give you practical tools for loosening up your work while still maintaining a clear, readable image.
This class is suitable for all skill levels and is designed to help you develop a more personal and expressive style. You’ll leave with a finished piece—or the beginnings of one—along with techniques you can continue applying to your own painting practice.
